Company Overview

Eight years ago, Pharmaxis was founded on an important Australian research discovery.

Today, Pharmaxis is on the cusp of bringing innovative medicines to millions of people worldwide, touching and improving their lives as it does so.

Pharmaxis is a specialty pharmaceutical company involved in the research, development and commercialisation of new therapies for undertreated respiratory diseases.

Our therapeutic interests include lung diseases such as bronchiectasis, cystic fibrosis, and asthma; as well as chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases such as chronic bronchitis and pulmonary fibrosis.

The company’s first product, Aridol, is approved for sale in Australia, major European countries and Korea. It is designed to identify lung inflammation and assist in diagnosing and managing asthma.

The second product, Bronchitol, is in final clinical trials as a new treatment for the debilitating lung diseases cystic fibrosis and bronchiectasis.

Founded in 1998, Pharmaxis was listed on the Australian Stock Exchange in November 2003 (symbol PXS), and on NASDAQ (symbol PXSL) in August 2005.

Headquartered in Sydney at its TGA-approved manufacturing facilities, Pharmaxis has grown to become one of Australia’s largest life sciences companies, with offices in four continents.

We are committed to bringing our therapeutic advances for respiratory diseases to patients throughout the world, and to building an internationally successful pharmaceutical business: one that’s built to last.
